Sorry for the decidedly weak state of this page. One day maybe I'll make it cool. In the interim, for your troubles here are some random semi-personal images from my travels.

Danger!
These signs effectively use both graphics and text to convey a simple message: Stay away!! Clockwise from upper left: 1) Grand Canyon (1997); 2)Oxford, UK, 2004; 3) Queensland, Austrlia, 2003; 4) Also in Queensland: The fine print helpfully adds that "Crocodile attack can cause serious injury or death". |

| Ireland (2004): Clockwise from upper left:
1) Guiness - the essence of the Eire experience. 2) Peat mining -
yes, they still do this. Goodbye wetlands! 3) Chillin' with
Oscar Wilde. 4) You may have heard that Dublin has some pubs
(Neary's gets the thumbs up). |

| Australia (2003): Ruth and me on our honeymon. Trust me, there are way more pictures than this. The usual highlights: Sydney Opera House, koalas, and coral reefs (Whitsunday Island, Queensland shown). | |

Western Australia (1999): Bluff Knoll in the Stirling Range, about a 6-hour drive southeast of Perth. With John Rayner and Andy James. Holding Emu Bitters carried up the mountain by yours truly. Always check your pack.
Tasmania (1999): Wineglass Bay, the most photographed spot in Tasmania.
A one hour hike from the trailhead leads to this vista. Not bad,
eh? Sadly, I was on the turbo tour and did what most tourists do:
hike up, admire the view, snap a photo, and head back to the car.
Much more strongly recommended is to actually hike down to Wineglass
Bay.

Dijon, France (1998): Collecting water from the fountain at Place Darcy,
a memorial for Henry Darcy, the grandfather of groundwater hydrology.

King's Peak, Utah (1996): highest point in Utah (13, 528 ft), High Uinta Wilderness. I made it to the top on my second attempt.
Finally, if you've had the misfortune to stumble this far you are rewarded
with this horrifyingly gruesome image. I urge you NOT to view this
photo if you are disturbed by disturbing things: ugh.
